The gun control lobby has a Trojan horse within the Republican Party.
One Republican senator has a sinister plan to ban guns.
But now all hell is breaking loose after that plan was leaked to the public.
Susan Collins is a “Republican” senator from Maine, but she has always gone out of her way to make nice with Democrats and be seen as a “moderate.”
This is especially true on a controversial issue like guns. Sen. Collins has no interest in supporting the Second Amendment and making her anti-gun friends mad, so she supports their agenda instead.
But now she is finding herself in hot water because of her opposition to guns and her refusal to defend the Second Amendment.
After the shooting in Lewiston, Maine, Collins came out with a new plan to take away gun rights in response to it.
She thought she could quietly use her position in the Senate to pass this legislation into law, without gun owners in Maine finding out about it.
But the National Association for Gun Rights found out about her plan, and they exposed it to the public. And now all hell is breaking loose.
According to an email from NAGR to their supporters, “Just in time for Halloween, Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) is slithering from her crypt to get in on the anti-gun hysteria and sink her fangs into the very freedoms she swore to protect.
“In case you missed it, before the killer in Maine has even been located, Sen. Collins pounced on the opportunity to exploit the tragedy to call for extreme new gun control laws.”
This email, of course, was written before the shooter was found, but Collins’s gun control plans have not changed.
Here is what she said that revealed her anti-gun ambitions: “I think it is more important that we ban very high-capacity magazines.”
Collins thinks the shooting is the fault of the magazines themselves, rather than the man who was released from the insane asylum and then shot up a bowling alley.
NAGR’s email continues, “You can be sure Biden, and Gun Control, Inc. are already scheming up their next gun control offensive.
“And thanks to Sen. Collins, the gun grabbers know a magazine ban, semi-auto ban, and more are in-play in the U.S. Senate.”
They then implored their supporters to “stop Senator Collins from handing Biden gun control on a silver platter.”
Gun owners have to be disappointed when Republican politicians campaign as defenders of the Second Amendment and then get to Washington and stab them in the back.
Maine is a heavily gun-owning state, and Susan Collins has almost certainly had many supporters over the years who own guns.
These people assumed she would protect their rights, but instead she has done the opposite.
But thanks to the National Association for Gun Rights, her betrayal of the Second Amendment is being exposed.
