Now everything is ruined for Gavin Newsom after the secret about his gun grab leaked.
If there’s one thing anti-gun Democrats don’t want the public to know about gun control, it’s that it does not work the way they say it does.
They want people to think that stopping crime and mass shootings is as simple as banning guns. The only reason those things have not been stopped is because our government simply hasn’t banned enough guns.
Of course, the truth is far different from that simplistic and false narrative. But so far they’ve succeeded at keeping the real data about gun crime under wraps.
But more and more people are finding out what’s really going on, and it’s damaging the gun control agenda of politicians like Gavin Newsom.
And California’s system of gun control is being used as a prime example of a plan that has failed.
Now Democrats like Newsom are furious as their entire argument for gun control is falling apart before their eyes.
Multiple studies have now shown that gun control laws don’t work. A study from Rand Corporation in January revealed that: “Considering our assessment of these findings and the relative strengths of these studies, we find limited evidence that high-capacity magazine bans reduce mass shootings.”
Of course, this is fairly obvious to anyone who is paying attention. Mass shootings have been carried out with all kinds of different guns. Simply banning one type of gun or one type of magazine does nothing to actually stop the shooter.
And sure enough, these terrible shootings have happened in states across America that have extremely restrictive gun control laws.
The Sandy Hook shooting happened in Connecticut, one of the most restrictive states in the country. The San Bernadino shooting happened in California, also an extremely restrictive state.
A Statista survey recently showed that California had the highest number of mass shootings from 1982 to 2023 of any state in America, in spite of their gun control laws.
Another survey from Statista showed that: “Handguns are the most common weapon type used in mass shootings in the United States, with a total of 165 different handguns being used in 115 incidents between 1982 and October 2023. These figures are calculated from a total of 148 reported cases over this period, meaning handguns are involved in about 78 percent of mass shootings.”
In other words, mass shooters do not care which gun they use in their horrific deeds, and the silly laws that politicians in places like California pass are doing nothing to stop these events.
If Gavin Newsom and his fellow anti-gun politicians were paying attention, they would drop the gun control nonsense and find more effective ways to stop mass shootings.
But gun control is so engrained in the political agenda of Democrats that it is unlikely these politicians are going to come to their senses any time soon.
