Anti-gun politicians are used to getting away with their unconstitutional schemes.

But now gun owners are fighting back.

And one gun-grabbing politician received a nasty surprise that he never saw coming.

Jared Polis is the governor of Colorado. He has claimed at various times in the past to be a “libertarian” and a more moderate Democrat than his peers.

Sometimes he lives up to that. During COVID, he opened his state up far earlier than other Democrat governors did, although not as soon as governors like Ron DeSantis in Florida.

However, when it comes to guns, Polis is the furthest thing from a libertarian. He has consistently made it a priority to attack the gun rights of Colorado citizens.

Since Colorado is a left-leaning state, he is normally able to get away with this politically. He knows his liberal constituents won’t vote him out of office for passing gun control.

But he just received a nasty surprise from the National Association for Gun Rights, which is based in Colorado.

They are suing him after he banned “ghost guns” – guns which are homemade and cannot be tracked by the government.

According to CBS News, “Two pro-gun groups and three Colorado gun owners have filed a federal lawsuit against Colorado Gov. Jared Polis over a new law that bans so-called ‘ghost guns,’ or those that can be made at home using parts kits and which typically lack a serial number.”

“Opponents, like the National Association of Gun Rights and Rocky Mountain Gun Owners — who are plaintiffs in the lawsuit — say the law restricts the Second Amendment rights of otherwise law-abiding gun owners who wish to make guns for personal use.”

“Polis signed the ban into law over the summer after the legislature passed it. He said the move was an effort to reduce gun violence and boost safety for Coloradans. The law took effect Monday with the start of the new year.”

Perhaps Polis was worried about a primary challenge from the left and felt like he had to appease his anti-gun base. In either case, his decision to sign this law was a horrific attack on the Second Amendment rights of Colorado citizens.

The article continues, “The plaintiffs, who also include Colorado gun owners Christopher James Hiestand Richardson, Max Edwin Schlosser and John Mark Howard, say that the ban does nothing to stop criminals from using guns — homemade or otherwise — in crimes and only limits their ability to make firearms that generally don’t differ from those that can be bought at most gun stores.”

Polis should take a look at the problems that he has caused for himself by implementing this gun grab and choose a different course.

Colorado gun owners deserve to have their rights respected, and not have powerful politicians in their state constantly encroaching on their privacy.

If Jared Polis doesn’t undo the damage he has caused, he is going to have a serious legal problem thanks to the National Association for Gun Rights.
