The international gun grabbers are coming for the guns of American citizens.
There is a global attempt to force the U.S. to enact gun control.
And Joe Biden is smiling as his globalist friends destroy the Second Amendment.
Democrats and other anti-gun politicians know that it is unlikely that major gun control can ever be passed at the federal level in the United States.
Congress has passed an “assault weapons ban” before, but that is weak sauce compared to what many of these politicians want – a full-scale repeal of the Second Amendment and a total ban on gun ownership.
Because of how many people in this country own guns, there is likely no realistic political way to pass a bill like that. So instead, these politicians are trying to use global organizations to force the U.S. to adopt gun control against the will of the American people.
An effort to do just that is underway and many people on the far Left are getting excited about it, thinking this might be the moment that guns are finally banned.
And they are pouring money into this one lawsuit hoping to make that happen.
According to The Truth About Guns, “On Friday, an anti-gun group caught the attention of the Firearms Policy Coalition with an interesting proposition: an ‘international lawsuit’ that could compel the United States to adopt harsh gun control measures. As usual, this was met with much laughter and mockery, but in the comments, there was a healthy mix of defiance sprinkled in. I actually found some new memes featuring blue helmets (a rare treat these days).”
“If you’re naive enough to take the Boston Globe article by Jonathan Lowy and Manuel Oliver at face value — it parrots often-debunked Gun Violence Archive statistics — you’ll conclude that anti-gunners have finally found the ultimate weapon to use against us: an international court that can beat even the U.S. Supreme Court.”
However, the article then goes on to make the point that this lawsuit is highly unlikely to have any effect, despite the best efforts of the Biden administration.
“This might sound scary to some, but it’s nothing more than a stunt designed to fool anti-gun midwits into parting with more of their money.”
Later, the article says: “There’s just one thing standing in their way: the fact that none of these international courts have any jurisdiction at all over domestic laws in the United States.”
“Yes, the United States is a member of the UN, the OAS, and other international bodies that run some of these courts, but for the courts to exercise any power in a particular country, that country has to sign and ratify a treaty giving each court that kind of power.”
In other words, the anti-gun left is wasting their time with this lawsuit. Even if they “won” the case, it would not affect U.S. gun laws at all.
However, this is not stopping anti-gun activists from getting excited at the prospect of international organizations forcing the U.S. to eliminate the Constitution.
