For some time, the Biden regime has been blocking funding to schools with hunting and archery programs.

It used the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965, on top of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (BSCA) to ban funding for schools if specific kinds of weapons are used.

However, those efforts were dashed on September 26, 2023, when the United States House voted 424-1 to pass a resolution opposing the Biden regime’s assault on school archery and hunting programs.

With respect to the BSCA, it was passed in the summer of 2022. At the time of its passage, the BSCA enjoyed significant bipartisan support. Namely, Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) played a key role in the crafting and passage of this legislation. The BSCA amended a subsection in the ESEA to ban any act to supply dangerous weapons or pay for “training in the use of a dangerous weapon.”

Rep. Mark Green (R-TN) sponsored H.R. 5110, which has the aim of amending the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965 to deprive the Biden regime’s Department of Education of using the ESEA and the BSCA as instruments for the defunding of school archery and hunting programs.

The resolution that would throw a wrench in the Biden regime’s attempts to undermine archery and hunting programs is now in the United States Senate. Although Democrats and their left-leaning independent coalition partners hold a 51-48 advantage in the Senate, there is still a chance for Democrats from relatively pro-gun states to cross over on this issue.

The fact is that the attacks on school programs that teach the responsible use of weapons is part of a broader anti-gun agenda that seeks to demonize all forms of civilian firearms ownership. At its core, such attempts to defund archery and hunting programs are designed to eliminate pro-gun perspectives and best practices at schools nationwide.

In turn, anti-gun forces assume the ensuing power vacuum to fund programs and put in staff that will constantly push anti-gun views in the classroom. The anti-gun Left understands the importance of shaping the minds of our youth. When gun controllers are able to corrupt the minds of the young, they are effectively creating the next generation of anti-gun footsoldiers.

To ensure that the right to bear arms exists for generations to come, we cannot allow Gun Control Inc. to fully take over the classroom.
