The ATF didn’t think a judge would ever dare to challenge their authority.

But they found out the hard way that they were wrong.

And now their whole future is in jeopardy after a huge victory by the National Association for Gun Rights.

The ATF has been maniacally focused on banning forced-reset triggers, and they have spent huge amounts of taxpayer money trying to defend this ban in court.

Of course, their gun control ambitions go far beyond forced-reset triggers, but this is the hill they have chosen to die on in 2023.

They assumed judges would be inclined to side with them over a gun rights organization, since they have the full weight of the federal government behind them.

But the National Association for Gun Rights decided to put that to the test, and they ended up handing the ATF a defeat that they truly never saw coming.

Now the Biden administration is having to decide how to move forward politically after this unexpected loss.

And the ATF is having to ask hard questions about their future after investing so much in this fight and losing anyway.

NAGR put out a press release about the ruling. Here is what they had to say: “Today in a United States District Court, Judge Reed O’Connor denied a request from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) for a stay in the case of National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR) v. Garland. On October 7th, Judge O’Connor issued a preliminary injunction against the ATF’s enforcement of a ban on Forced Reset Triggers (FRTs) for members of NAGR. The ATF requested a stay. That argument was rejected.

“In his ruling, Judge O’Connor states, ‘[The ATF’s] plea that the injunction interferes with Defendants’ ability to seize FRTs merits no sympathy.’”

This is a huge smackdown by the judge, who ridiculed the ATF for trying to seize forced-reset triggers even after he told them not to.

And it signals that his final ruling may not be a favorable one for the ATF.

The press release continues, “The National Association for Gun Rights is waiting to hear from the Court on a summary judgement motion the ATF’s trigger ban permanently, halting the ATF’s FRT ban until the conclusion of the case. NAGR submitted that request on November 3rd.”

Dudley Brown, the president of NAGR, had this to say: “The ATF thinks that if they whine loud enough, they can simply ignore the court and continue imposing their trigger ban on gun owners. I’m thankful Judge O’Connor saw right through that charade.”

The ATF is going to be in big trouble with Judge O’Connor if they continue ignoring his court orders.

And if they lose this battle on forced-reset triggers, it throws their entire gun control agenda into chaos.

After all, this has been one of their top gun control priorities for 2023.

And if they can’t defeat NAGR in the courtroom, it raises doubts about their ability to harass gun owners and enact more gun control for the remainder of the Biden administration.
