Kamala Harris is trying to make a fundamental change to America.
And she is boasting about it publicly.
She created shockwaves as she made a dangerous statement about her gun control plans.
The Bill of Rights isn’t supposed to protect people from having anything bad happen to them in their lives, it is simply supposed to protect people from being harmed by the government.
That’s why, when people suggest changing the Bill of Rights to protect people from getting sick, or having a low income, or feeling unsafe, they fundamentally misunderstand the document.
All of those things are important. We should do more to combat illness, or poverty, or to promote safety. But that isn’t what the Bill of Rights is for.
Apparently, Kamala Harris can be counted among the people who do not understand that basic truth.
She is now referring to safety as a basic American “freedom” in the same category as freedom of speech or freedom of the press.
Unfortunately, a “freedom of safety” is going to contradict, by definition, some of the other core freedoms in the Bill of Rights, and perhaps supersede them.
According to Forbes, “Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democratic nominee for President, has made what she calls ‘freedom to live safe from gun violence’ an important plank of her presidential campaign. At her first rally last month, she expressed support for policies, including passage of so-called red flag laws, universal background checks and a prohibition of sales of assault weapons to civilians.”
There is no way that a constitutionally-protected “freedom to live safe from gun violence,” if that is in fact what she is referring to, could coexist with the Second Amendment.
The Second Amendment would have to be fully repealed. Those two amendments could not exist together.
If there are guns anywhere in society, there will also be some small risk of gun violence. If there are no guns, then there will be risk of other types of violence, from things like knives or cars.
The article continues, “And as Vice President, Harris has overseen the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention. To specifically address school shootings, the Office’s strategy has focused on stopping juveniles and people experiencing a mental health crisis from accessing firearms. And the Office has underscored the mental health needs of students, particularly those impacted by gun violence.”
This “Office of Gun Violence Prevention” is unprecedented as it is the first office ever set up by a president with the direct purpose of attacking a core constitutional right.
While other agencies like the NSA and FBI violate the Constitution on a daily basis, the Office of Gun Violence Prevention quite literally has no other role.
It exists with the intention of attacking the Second Amendment.
It’s clear from all of this evidence that Kamala Harris would be the most anti-gun president in U.S. history.
Gun owners, and everybody else, should be aware of just how far-reaching her views are. She is openly flaunting her plans for gun control if she wins.
