Gov. Grisham of New Mexico is hiding a dark secret about her true intentions.
She wanted people to believe she was only banning guns because of “safety.”
But one journalist revealed what she is actually up to behind the scenes.
Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, the chief executive of the state of New Mexico, caused an uproar in September when she banned the carry of guns in Albuquerque and surrounding communities.
Gun owners, particularly in New Mexico, were outraged and alarmed as she essentially nullified the Second Amendment for people within the city of Albuquerque.
She claimed that this was only a “temporary” order to assure people of their “safety.” She tried to say that her intention wasn’t to totally ban guns.
Of course, anyone with half a brain knew that she was lying. The order was never meant to be temporary, and it was an attempt to ban guns completely.
While Gov. Grisham’s initial order was struck down by a court, her revised order to ban guns from parks and playgrounds was upheld.
And as Cam Edwards from Bearing Arms revealed, the order, which allegedly was supposed to be “temporary,” is in fact still in place.
According to Edwards’ article, “When Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s declared a ‘public health emergency’ due to gun violence back in September, she made a lot of noise about the order being temporary. In fact, that was one of the main arguments deployed in her attempt to keep her ban on concealed carry in Albuquerque and Bernalillo County in place. Grisham’s attorney failed to convince a U.S. District Court judge that a total ban on lawful carrying comported with the Constitution, even temporarily, but the judge did allow for the governor’s revised order prohibiting concealed carry in parks and playgrounds in the city and county to be enforced while the lawsuit against her order continues.
“The litigation is still ongoing, and as it turns out, so is the governor’s ‘temporary’ declaration. After renewing her public health order in October and November, the governor has once again declared the carry ban will remain in effect at least through the end of the year.”
Later on in the article, Edwards says this: “The governor’s stated purpose for the carry ban was public safety, but the real goal was and has been to see just how far the courts will let her go in infringing on the rights of law-abiding citizens, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see her orders renewed on a monthly basis until or unless they get smacked down; either from a federal judge or the state Supreme Court, which is also set to hear arguments about the governor’s authority to declare an emergency on gun violence and drugs early next month.”
That is the truth. Grisham wasn’t trying to keep anyone safe. She was trying to assert her own authority above the Constitution.
And until she is removed from office, either by losing re-election or being impeached by the Legislature, she will continue pushing the limits of her authority to strip people of their rights.
