Everyone who owns a gun is under serious threat from one powerful Republican.

He has been plotting a campaign to keep them under constant surveillance.

And now he is putting his plan into action.

Mike Turner is a Republican congressman from Ohio and the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee.

He is an old-school Republican, not a constitutionalist in the model of Thomas Massie or Chip Roy, but a Bush-Cheney Republican who is pro-surveillance and anti-liberty.

Turner is a diehard believer in the Deep State, and he believes every American should be under the watchful eye of the federal government, particularly if they own guns.

Congress is currently debating whether to reform Section 702 of FISA, which is used as the legal framework for intelligence agencies to collect data on American citizens.

Turner is adamantly opposed to taking any spy powers away from the intelligence community, since he believes the Fourth Amendment is no longer relevant and shouldn’t apply anymore.

He is trying to torpedo efforts to get rid of the “data broker” loophole that allows the government to purchase records about gun owners from private data brokers.

According to Breitbart, “Americans’ Second Amendment rights are at risk over a deep state surveillance reform bill as House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner (R-OH) has sought to ‘narrow’ the scope of surveillance reform.

“The House Rules Committee on Wednesday will consider a bill that would reauthorize Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA). The House is expected to consider the legislation later this week.

“Section 702 is a law that allows intelligence agencies to collect communications of targeted foreigners. It also may lead to targeted surveillance of Americans’ private communications, which privacy advocates consider a run around the Fourth Amendment’s requirement for a warrant to search Americans’ communications.”

These unconstitutional activities put gun owners under threat more than perhaps any other group of people, as the government considers them to be dangerous.

“Breitbart News reported that 30 House Republicans on Tuesday sent a letter to Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) demanding that they protect Americans’ Second Amendment rights by closing the data broker loophole.

“The lawmakers emphasized that, if lawmakers do not close the data broker loophole, it could have a particular concern to law-abiding Americans.”

Turner may claim to be a Republican, but he clearly is out of step with most of his constituents who support gun rights.

In fact, it’s even worse than that. He’s not only out of step, he is so hostile to the natural rights of his constituents that he wants the federal government to actively target them.

This is a tremendous threat to gun owners that Republicans in Congress need to address.

They need to take speedy action to stop this rogue member of their caucus from undoing the United States Constitution.

Mike Turner may not believe that Americans should have freedom anymore, but that doesn’t mean it’s too late for people to fight back against him.
