It was a monumental victory at the Supreme Court for the Second Amendment.
And it saved the lives of countless people.
Now, many of those people are expressing their gratitude to the Supreme Court for what they did.
The Bruen decision by the Supreme Court was one of the most important decisions by the highest court of the past 10 years.
It prevented gun grabbers from passing laws restricting citizens from carrying guns in public, throwing out a number of state gun control laws in the process.
Of course, the gun control lobby claimed that people would die as a result of this. But in the real world, the exact opposite has happened.
Many people in inner cities want to carry guns to protect themselves from crime. This is especially true if those people own small businesses.
Now a number of these business owners in anti-gun states, who were left unable to defend themselves under the previous laws, are taking advantage of the Bruen decision to protect themselves.
And they are expressing their gratitude to the Supreme Court for giving them a chance to keep themselves, their businesses, and their families safe.
According to Bearing Arms, “Even in New York City, where Gov. Kathy Hochul and Mayor Eric Adams have done their best to turn the metropolis into one big ‘gun-free zone,’ Bruen is having a positive impact on the right to armed self-defense.”
“ABC 7’s Joe Torres recently spoke with Fernando Mateo and Radhames Rodriguez of the United Bodegas of America about the push to arm bodega workers. The pair say at least 250 workers have applied for their permits, and some of them have already been approved and are now carrying on the job…including Rodriguez.”
This is an inspiring story for people who have no political stake in this fight, just a desire to defend themselves in a dangerous environment.
However, the city is still trying to throw up roadblocks.
The article continues, “Mateo told Torres that it’s still ‘almost impossible’ to get a carry permit in New York City, and even alleged that post-Bruen you still have to have a ‘good reason’ to carry, which shouldn’t be the case. The Supreme Court ruled that permits based on ‘justifiable need’ or ‘good cause’ requirements violate the Second Amendment’s protections, but the city is still trying to make applicants demonstrate ‘good moral character’ before approving license applications. That particular provision was ruled unconstitutional by U.S. District Judge John P. Cronan last October, but the city has appealed Cronan’s opinion to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.”
It’s outrageous that New York politicians would try to stop good and innocent people like this from carrying guns in the name of self-defense.
These are not criminals or people trying to create violence. They just don’t want violence to be aimed at them. There is no reason why New York City should try to stop them from carrying.
But thankfully, their efforts are failing, and more and more people are carrying guns to protect themselves.
