The New Mexico governor’s attack on gun rights has gone south quickly for her.

She has been losing friends and allies on a daily basis.

And even the mainstream media has turned against her anti-gun agenda.

Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham thought that as a Democrat in a powerful government position, she could get away with anything.

She assumed that because there is so much support for gun control in the media and in elite circles, that any gun control proposal that she pushed would be embraced with open arms.

It has not turned out that way for her. Democrats immediately saw a political problem with her proposal, as it enraged gun owners across America and motivated them to get out and vote to protect their rights.

As a result, Democrats decided to distance themselves from Gov. Grisham and throw her under the bus, and she has been struggling to find allies ever since.

Now, even the local media in New Mexico is turning against her unconstitutional plan.

And her political career is increasingly looking like it may come to an abrupt end after she tried to undo the Second Amendment.

According to Bearing Arms, “Albuquerque is ground zero for Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s gun control machinations. Back in September the governor tried to suspend the right to bear arms in the city and surrounding Bernalillo County based on her proclamation of a public health emergency due to gun violence, and while a federal judge blocked her edict from being enforced he’s allowed a more narrow restriction banning lawful carry at parks and playgrounds to be enforced… though it’s unclear whether anyone’s actually been cited for violating her mandate.

“With the state legislature’s 30-day session fast approaching, Grisham is now calling on lawmakers to approve a state-level version of the semi-auto ban introduced in Congress by New Mexico Sen. Martin Heinrich, while Attorney General Raul Torrez wants legislatures to expand the state’s ‘red flag’ law. The editors of the Journal take a dim view of both of those proposals, as well as Grisham’s notion that the city is suffering from a public health crisis involving guns.”

The Albuquerque Journal is one of the biggest publications in New Mexico, and losing their support is a big deal for Gov. Grisham.

The Journal also came out strongly against red flag laws, saying: “But research hasn’t really shown a correlation between lowering gun violence — the problem New Mexico is trying to solve — and using red flag laws. In fact, there’s no proof red flag laws actually work to reduce crime.”

Gov. Grisham thought her gun control proposal would make her a national superstar for the Democratic Party, but instead she is scrambling to try to pick up the pieces of her crumbling political career.

This will hopefully be a message to other anti-gun politicians to avoid getting on the bad side of gun owners.

After all, gun owners are serious about defending their rights, and they will vote politicians like Michelle Lujan Grisham out of office if they are a threat to the Second Amendment.
